Why Do We Create?

This limited-time, 6-week group brings together artists of all crafts and disciplines to talk about why it is that we create. To be able to express oneself through a creative medium is a sacred, mysterious, and often healing act. For many, it is the way that they feel most truthful to who they are, and most aligned with their purpose here on earth. This world, however, is structured around capitalism and productivity, which often extracts much of this joy and puts many artists in positions where they must compromise their vision or make choices for financial survival over creative truthfulness. This group aims to be a space to talk about these complexities, and ultimately come together in creative ways that lead to a meaningful shared experience.
